 10 Feathers 
Santa Fe, 2018

Doug had the honor of honoring the fallen 10 after the horrific school shooting in 2018.  With the help of his art students and the inspiration of his home town, they created the mural known as Ten Feathers. 

This mural can be seen on Highway 6 going into the heart of Santa fe, texas. 
Bootiful Wimberley

Doug has been chosen as one of 20 artists from Texas to participate in the "Bootiful Wimblerley" public sculpture project. Reinforcing Wimberley's reputation as an art center in Texas, these visual and fun display of artistic custom boot sculptures convey this Hill Country city as a place to unwind, relax and enjoy art, culture, shopping and nature. Doug's boot, which features 14 varieties of Hill Country Birds, will be installed in front of the Wimberley Visitor and Information Centeron the way into town. Doug will be working throughout the studio space at the Ol Baptist Church, a huge beautiful setting along the river. During the process film crews will be on hand to record footage for a documentary about the project. The finished boots will debut during the annual July 4th parade and rodeo and be featured at an Art Show with the 20 "Boot" artists who will each displaying their original paintings.

"Bass, Crappie, Perch" Takes 1st @ National Society of Artists Annual Art Show

The National Society of Artists annual art show honored Doug's newest Ink piece, "Bass, Crappie, Perch," with a 1st place in the Drawing Category, Professional. They also awareded "Fish Market," a watercolor of a giant river otter and and a kingfisher, with an honorable mention in Professional, Watercolor.

Doug displayed several of his original and most popular wildlife painting in an exhibit called "Painted Jungles" at The Center for Arts & Sciences at Brazosport College in Clute, Texas from Jan. 7-Feb. 2.
